Ben Krasney
Ben Krasney is in his second year on the Whitman coaching staff, and is the freshman girls’ coach for the 2007-2008 season. Last year, Ben was an assistant coach for Whitman’s varsity girls, who took first place in the second and third eight events at the NCC regatta, and second place in the varsity eight. From 2003-2005, Ben was the assistant girls' rowing coach for The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA. His novice girls' eights recorded top-three finishes at the all-novice Dr. White Regatta in both 2004 and 2005. From 2000-2002, Ben was the assistant coach for men's crew at Colgate University. His novice lightweight eight placed second at the Dad Vail Regatta in 2002.
Ben rowed competitively for 12 years, representing Shipley, Colgate, Penn A.C. and the Undine Barge Club. Ben is a marketing and business development manager for Congressional Quarterly Press. He and his wife Toby live in Washington, DC.
