June 4, 2005: End of Year Whitman Crew Awards

There is no MVP in crew, but some rowers do stand out. Awards presented at the End of Year party included:

Best Varsity Man Rower: Brett Rubin

Scholar Athlete Varsity Man: Ashwin Shandilya
Most Improved Varsity Woman: Karen Orrick

May 25, 2005: All Met Rowers
The Washington Post named the following Whitman rowers as some of the top in the metropolitan area.
All Met: LauraChase McGehee, Brett Rubin
Honorable Mention: Aaron Packard-Winkler, Mariel Yohe.

May 20, 2005: Stotesbury Cup Regatta, Philadelphia
We peaked at Stotesbury this year with 7 of 8 boats advancing to the semi-finals. Not many of the 180 schools (more than 5,000 rowers) who competed at Stotes this year were able to accomplish that! The Women’s 2V made the finals at Stotes and the Women’s Lightweight 8 earned a bronze medal at Stotes this year. This is Whitman’s second consecutive year of having a boat earn a bronze medal at the prestigious Stotesbury Cup regatta.
